About
Claus Inn respects and cares for the natural and built environment. The venue was planned and developed by converting existing buildings rather than to demolish it.
Solar energy was used when the first guests arrived in 2000. This was extended and is currently contributing to at least 90% of the available hot water. An extensive power back up system was developed comprising of solar, gas, a generator and various energy saving gadgets. A significant amount of rain and underground water are harvest and used mainly for garden purposes.
Organic gardening is been practiced on a limited scale. The fruit trees on the property include: Almonds, Grapes, Lemons, Olives, Peaches, Pomegranates, Walnuts, Plums, Quinces, Figs & excellent Prickly Pears. In early spring our prized clivias provide a colourful display for your viewing pleasure.
This Haven allows us to appreciate the beauty of nature and our duty towards conservation and maintaining the environment for future generations.
